PreS-Gr 2-Buster's team of four-wheeled racers at Punchy Motorsports is back in this fun holiday feature. As the pit crew prepares for a Christmas parade, the cars are joined by rival Scuff from neighboring team Sneak Attack Racing. While Buster is disappointed to share the joy of the festivities with Scuff, he is quickly distracted as both cars are instructed to find the missing Christmas tree just a few minutes before the parade starts. This proves difficult as the two weave through floats, a brass band, and a candy-tossing fire truck, all while Scuff pokes fun at Buster, making the task especially frustrating for the latter. Will the adversaries find a way to get along and locate the tree in time for the celebration? This book presents positive messages of perseverance, as Buster never gives up his search for the missing Christmas tree and includes Scuff, despite the rival car being a bit difficult to get along with. Smietanka's brightly colored illustrations are eye-catching in this fun addition to the "Buster" series that even readers who are not familiar with the other books can enjoy. VERDICT Race car and holiday fans will enjoy this befitting story for picture book collections.-Kerra Mazzariello
