Richardson’s debut packs a powerful emotional punch. Chicago executive Avery King has just broken up with her boyfriend rather publicly, and she needs to leave town quickly. She heads to Aspen, Colo., where Bryce Walker’s family ranch is on her to-buy list. Bryce has no interest in selling; he’s still mourning his wife’s death, and all he wants to do is cling to his heritage. Expecting to charm Bryce out of his property, Avery is the one who ends up surprised when she falls deeply in love with the rugged widower. As she empathizes with Bryce, Avery battles with her father, who is determined to acquire the land at any cost.
