Gina works at a law office. As a young girl she lost her hearing from a high fever, but with the use of a cochlear implant and her own hard work, she is now able to hear. One day, she meets Carson, one of the law office's clients. He has a deaf son and is struggling to communicate with him. Gina agrees to help Carson and his son, but she soon finds herself feeling more than sympathy as she watches them together...
