This series is meant for adults who want to improve their vocabularies for business, social situations or general knowledge. In a straightforward format a narrator introduces the chapters, which deal with a different theme--for example, business, medicine, relationships, etc. Two characters, identified as George and Anita, then have a conversation or dialogue using the words in that chapter. They also use antonyms, synonyms and homophones to put some words in context. Music separates the chapters and provides a smooth transition from one subject to the next. A companion pocket dictionary is handily included with the tape box, so the listener has all learning tools at his disposal. All in all, the Dynamic Vocabulary tapes are easy to follow and useful. Anita and George engage in some corny repartee (a DV word!), and George sounds like he's in a tunnel. These quibbles aside, we can learn a lot from this system. R.I.G. (c) AudioFile, Portland, Maine
