Grades 3-5 Readers are broadly introduced to social--justice issues by way of situations in which people might not feel safe or respected due to a certain aspect of their circumstances or identity, such as their race, sexuality, or houselessness. The point of this book isn't to educate kids about specific issues but to help spur them into action where they feel passionate, suggesting steps to take and reminding them to act in an informed, respectful way.
