This publication helps them get through that time when they are not actually in the bush. From cover to cover the AHG brings you everything you need to know about hunting the great continent of Africa. Namibia Addresses Wildlife Crime • Wildlife crime continues to evolve. Namibia continues to adapt. As a nation, we possess great pride in our natural resources. When threats to wildlife populations and other environmental resources escalate, we respond to defend our natural heritage. The year 2022 saw the most rhinos poached in our country since 2015, when the first major poaching wave in independent Namibia peaked. We were able to rebut that initial assault, and we are implementing a range of innovative responses to the current spike.

What Do You Do with a WARTHOG IN A CAVE? • This past January 2023 at the DSC Show, I was reunited with my professional hunter, Gamshad Gam, from a memorable Tanzanian Safari, nearly a decade ago. We had not seen each other nor talked since October 2013. As we sat in his booth to catch up on our respective life events, we reminisced about our unforgettable warthog chase. There are some things you just cannot make up! What do you do with a warthog in a cave?

A Safari to REMEMBER • It was a slow and tedious process where each step was carefully taken, and stealth was of utmost importance. After moving quietly in what seemed an eternity, Rhuan and Jackson settled in at the base of a tree where they would be well concealed and could better monitor the activity of the herd. With the thick bush and the herd being wary, this cat- and-mouse game seemed like it could go on for hours.

Fourth LEOPARD at eighty • The leopard cannot be seen if he does not want to be seen, and that makes hunting him the perfect hunt. If you want a realistic chance to shoot a leopard, you must make him come to you, which means hunting over bait, or following a pack of hounds.

3 Friends for AFRICA • I’ve had the privilege and good fortune now to hunt in Africa four times now. I’ve had numerous discussions with good friend Richard Lendrum (the editor for African Hunting Gazette) about talking to people about going to Africa and what a great adventure it can be.
